Terms of Use

End User Licence Agreement for iDoughMath · Hanamori Labs, LLC · Effective 29 September 2026

1. The agreement

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Hanamori Labs, LLC (“we”, “us”) for the iDoughMath app for iPhone and the iDoughMath Plus and Pro subscriptions (together, the “App”). By downloading or using the App you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the App.

Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”) also applies to your use of the App. These Terms add to it. Where they conflict, these Terms apply, except for section 15 (Apple terms), which always applies.

2. Who can use the app

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age to use apps like this without a parent’s consent where you live. If you are under 18, please use the App, and buy a subscription, only with a parent’s or guardian’s permission.

3. Your licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on Apple devices that you own or control, as allowed by the App Store’s usage rules, for your own non-commercial use. We and our licensors keep all rights in the App, its design, its name and logo, its illustrations and its content, other than your content (section 6).

4. Accounts

An account is optional. If you create one, give accurate details, keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. You can delete your account at any time in the App under Settings, then Delete account.

5. iDoughMath Plus and Pro subscriptions

The App is free to download. iDoughMath Plus and iDoughMath Pro are optional auto-renewing subscriptions that unlock extra features, as described in the App and on our website. Plus adds the cost calculator, unlimited recipes and other baking tools. Pro includes everything in Plus and adds the Business tab and the Supermarket trip. Without a subscription the App stays free to use, with up to 5 saved recipes and up to 3 Decor Inspo groups.

  • Plans and price. Plus is US$1.99 per month or US$19.99 per year. Pro is US$4.99 per month or US$49.99 per year. Each is also shown in the equivalent price in your currency in the App Store before you buy. Taxes may apply.
  • Free trial. Eligible new subscribers can start with a 7-day free trial on the yearly plans only (the monthly plans have no free trial). If you don’t cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged.
  • Payment. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase, or, if you start a free trial, when the trial ends.
  • Automatic renewal. The subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Managing and cancelling. Manage or cancel in your iPhone’s Settings: tap your name, then Subscriptions (or use Manage subscription in the App’s Settings). Cancelling stops the next renewal; Your plan stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
  • Unused trial. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
  • Refunds. Purchases are handled by Apple, so refunds are decided by Apple under its policies. You can ask for one at reportaproblem.apple.com. This doesn’t affect any rights you have under consumer law.
  • Price changes. If the price changes, Apple will tell you in advance and, where required, ask you to agree before your next renewal.
  • Changing plan. You can move between Plus and Pro, or between monthly and yearly, in your iPhone’s Settings under Subscriptions; Apple explains when the change takes effect and any credit for the unused time. If you cancel, or your subscription lapses, you keep everything you saved: recipes and Decor Inspo ideas past the free limits stay on your iPhone and can still be opened, but adding beyond the free limits needs a subscription again.
  • Restoring. Use Restore purchase in the App’s Settings to use Plus or Pro on another iPhone signed in to the same Apple Account.

Plus and Pro features may improve or change over time, but we won’t remove a core Plus or Pro feature during a period you have already paid for without offering you a remedy required by law.

6. Your content and creators’ recipes

Your content stays yours. Recipes you type or bring in, your changes, reminders, notes, photos, clips and saved ideas (“your content”) belong to you, or to whoever owns them. You give us only the limited permission needed to store and back up your content and send it where you ask (for example your own backup or a share you start), and, for what you post in the baking community, the licence in section 9. We don’t use your content for anything else.

Respect the people who created the recipes. Recipes and pictures you bring in from websites, videos and social posts belong to their creators. The App keeps a link back to the original and the creator’s name where it can find it, and adds that credit when you share. Please use imported recipes and saved pictures for your own baking and reference, keep the credit when you share, and don’t republish other people’s work as your own or where you don’t have permission.

You are responsible for your content and for having the right to add and share it.

7. Other websites and services

The App can read pages you link to, and opens websites such as Google, Google Images, Pinterest, YouTube and Instagram. Those websites and their content are run by other companies under their own terms and privacy policies. We don’t control or endorse them and are not responsible for their content or availability. Sharing features hand content to other apps you choose, such as WhatsApp, under their terms.

8. Acceptable use

Please don’t:

  • use the App to break any law or infringe anyone’s rights, including copyright;
  • copy, sell, rent or redistribute the App, or unlock Plus or Pro features without paying;
  • reverse engineer or decompile the App, except where the law expressly allows it;
  • interfere with the App or the services behind it, or try to access other people’s accounts or data;
  • use the App to collect content from websites in bulk or automatically.

9. The baking community

From version 1.1, the App includes a community where bakers share recipes, photos, questions and tips in groups (“community content”). Anyone using the App can read it. To post, comment, create a group or give a 🧁 Yum (an upvote) you need an account, a display name, and to agree to the community rules below.

Community rules. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. When you post, comment or choose a display name:

  • be kind: no insults, harassment, bullying, hate speech, discrimination or threats;
  • keep it about baking: no spam, advertising, selling or links to unrelated sites;
  • post nothing sexual, violent, illegal or otherwise objectionable, and nothing that shares someone else’s personal information;
  • share your own bakes and photos, and credit recipes that came from someone else (the App keeps the original creator’s name and link with a shared recipe); don’t post other people’s work where you don’t have permission;
  • don’t share food advice you know to be unsafe, and don’t pretend to be someone else, including us.

Your licence to us. Your community content stays yours. By posting it, you give Hanamori Labs, LLC a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, resize, display and distribute it within the App (and in its moderation tools) so other people can see it, for as long as it stays posted. You also let other users view it and save a copy of a recipe you share into their own collection in the App, with credit to you, for their personal use. You can delete your posts and comments at any time, and deleting your account deletes them; copies other users already saved stay with them. You confirm you have the right to post what you post.

Reporting, blocking and removal. You can report any post or comment in the App, with a reason, and block any user so you no longer see what they post. We review reports within 24 hours. We may, without notice, hide or remove any community content we believe breaks these Terms or the rules, and suspend or remove the accounts of people who post it. The App also checks text for objectionable words before it is posted. We don’t check everything before it appears, and community content is the responsibility of the person who posted it, not ours; we don’t endorse it. Recipes and advice from other bakers are not checked by us: the baking and food-safety notes in section 10 apply to them too.

10. Baking, food safety and allergens

iDoughMath is a kitchen helper. It does the arithmetic; you are the baker. Please keep in mind:

  • Results vary. Scaling is proportional arithmetic. Pans, ovens, altitude, ingredients and technique change how a bake turns out, and some things (leaveners, baking times, pan sizes) don’t always scale in a straight line. The App notes some of these, but it can’t guarantee results.
  • Conversions are approximate. Converting between weight and volume uses published average densities and cup standards. A recipe may have been written with a different cup or ingredient than assumed. Check important amounts.
  • Reading recipes can make mistakes. Recipes read from links, captions, pasted text and photos may be incomplete or misread, and translations made on your iPhone may not be perfect. Check them against the original before you bake.
  • Food safety and allergens are your responsibility. The App doesn’t check ingredients for allergens, dietary needs or safety. Read labels, follow safe food handling (such as for raw eggs and raw flour), cook to safe temperatures, and check with a professional for medical or dietary needs.
  • Timers depend on your phone. Alarms rely on your iPhone’s notification, sound, Focus and battery settings. Keep an eye on your oven; don’t rely on the App where missing an alarm could cause harm.

11. Changes to the app

We may update, change or stop parts of the App, for example to fix problems, follow the law, or keep up with changes to iOS or to websites the App reads. Some features depend on iOS versions or on third-party websites and may not always be available.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don’t promise that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will read every recipe correctly.

Some places don’t allow these exclusions. If you are a consumer, you keep all rights the law gives you that can’t be excluded, and nothing in these Terms limits them.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Hanamori Labs, LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, spoiled ingredients or failed bakes, arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the App in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can’t be limited by law.

14. Ending the agreement

You can stop using the App at any time by deleting it, and delete your account in Settings. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms. Deleting the App or your account doesn’t cancel a Plus or Pro subscription; cancel it in your Apple Account settings. Sections 6, 9 (the licence for posts you leave up), 10, 12, 13, 16 and 18 continue after the agreement ends.

15. Apple terms

You and we acknowledge that:

  • these Terms are between you and Hanamori Labs, LLC only, not Apple, and we, not Apple, are solely responsible for the App and its content;
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App;
  • if the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the App; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the App;
  • we, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the App, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection or privacy claims;
  • if a third party claims the App or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim;
  • you represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties;
  • you must comply with any applicable third-party terms when using the App;
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and once you accept them Apple may enforce them against you.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled by the courts located in the State of Delaware, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it in your local courts.

If you are a consumer in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another country with mandatory consumer protections, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.

Before starting a formal claim, please email us so we can try to sort it out.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms. We’ll post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change is significant, we’ll take reasonable steps to let you know before it takes effect. Continuing to use the App after the change means you accept the updated Terms.

18. General and contact

If any part of these Terms can’t be enforced, the rest stays in effect. If we don’t enforce a right straight away, we don’t give it up. You may not transfer these Terms; we may transfer them to a company that takes over the App, with notice to you.
